Obituary of Peter John Trombly

Private services will be held in Santa Cruz for Peter Trombly who passed away peacefully at his Soquel home on August 4, 2013 after a brave battle against esophageal cancer. Born in Oakland, California, he was 63 years old. After earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business from St. Mary's College in Moraga, Peter moved to the Santa Cruz area 40 years ago. He was a talented wood craftsman and designed and constructed beautiful furniture for family and friends. A cowboy at heart, many fond family memories will be cherished of Peter's love for the outdoors, riding his horses, and going fishing; especially off of the Capitola Wharf. He was fond of all animals, but no greater was the love he had for his dogs, "Suki" and "Melon". Peter was very grateful that his trade was also his passion. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carole Trombly of Soquel, his step children and their spouses: Lisa and Steve John of Monterey, Perry and Kristen Wiget of Santa Cruz, and Brad and Kelly Wiget of Soquel; his brothers and sisters in-laws, Michael and Lori Trombly of Laguna Beach, Tom and Michelle Trombly of San Leandro; and six beloved grandchildren: Chelsie, Alexa, Zachary, Kyle, Tucker, and Jenna and his niece Ashley. A memorial celebration of Pete's life will be announced at a later date, and committal at sea is private.
