Obituary of Geraldine Ellen Wilson

Our beloved mother, Geraldine "Jerry" Carroll Wilson passed away peacefully on August 23, 2011 in Capitola, CA. Jerry was born July 1, 1922 in San Jose, CA to Claude Perry and Hulda Parsen. She is survived by her four daughters from her first marriage, Kathy Earnshaw (Joe) of Gilroy, Karen Ellner (Bob) of Acampo, Patricia Routh (Mick) of Capitola, and Edith "Fuzzy" Carroll von Stauffenberg of Haines, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her son Timothy Carroll who was killed in Vietnam, her first husband Bud Carroll, her husband Paul Wilson, two sisters and two brothers. She leaves seven grandchildren, Robin Ellner, Erik Ellner, Tricia Foster, Patrick Earnshaw, Myles Routh, Austin Welch, and Ashley Martin, and 15 great grandchildren. They have fond memories of the fun times at Gramma Jerry's house on Soquel Creek in Capitola. Jerry is also survived by her sister Dorothy Floren of San Jose, her half brothers Claude Perry of Longview, TX and Paul Perry of Irvine, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry is a descendant of two original settlers of California, John Gilroy, for whom the city of Gilroy is named, and Thomas Doak. John married Clara Ortega of the San Ysidro land grant, and Thomas married Maria Castro of the Las Animas land grant. She was also related to Mayflower settlers John Alden and Pricilla Mullins. Jerry is a member of the Los Gatos Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Donations may be made to the Timothy Carroll Fund, Los Gatos Chapter - DAR, P.O. Box 461, Campbell, CA 95009 in Jerry's name. The fund provides assistance for local veterans.
