Obituary of Marcia Lee Lewis

Services will be on September 19 in Santa Cruz for Marcia Lewis who passed away on September 10 in Santa Cruz, from complications of Corticobasal Degeneration. Born in Santa Barbara, CA. on March 3, 1939, she was 73 years old. Marcia moved to Santa Cruz 34 years ago. She had a lifelong love of fine sewing and worked many years as a men's wear tailor at Sears in Capitola. . She later worked at Talisman Restoration, where she was honored to have the opportunity to make expert repairs on rare, ancient and extremely valuable textiles and rugs. She also enjoyed working part time at her brother, Lowell's business, Webb's Farm Supplies in Soquel. Marcia had a life long love and a strong connection with animals, and was an avid outdoors person. She had numerous "Spuds" Bull Terrier dogs throughout the years, many of which she helped rescue through the Bull Terrier Rescue Group. An accomplished gardener she had an exceptional knack for nursing sickly plants back to their former glory and vigor; and raising exotic and difficult to propagate plants and palms. Her family will forever remember her love for daily walks in the Soquel Hills, where she lived for more than 30 years. Marcia was an excellent baker and her Kailua cake and banana chocolate chip muffins were instant favorites of all who sampled them. Her children, Chris and Randy Buffon, Kathy Smith and Carter Lewis and his former spouse, Rachel Samuels, survive Marcia. She also leaves her brother, Lowell Webb, and her former husbands, Steve Buffon and Dave Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Kenneth Webb, and her brothers, Larry and Kevin Webb. A Memorial Service for Marcia will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga Street in Santa Cruz, beginning at 3 pm.
