Obituary of Christopher Shawn Taylor

Christopher Shawn Taylor of Scotts Valley joined his Heavenly Father on April 25, 2012, after having suffered a lengthy illness. He was 50 years old. Chris was born in Woodland Hills, California, on December 4, 1961, and has since lived in Mountain View, San Jose and Rocklin.ScottsValleyhas been his home for the last 13 years. His loving wife, Shana, survives Chris, along with his father Jack Taylor, brother Guy Taylor and sisters Jacque Tuntori and Chris Wilson. Chris's mother, Barbara Kauahi, passed away two years ago. Chris graduated with a Bachelor's of Science from San Jose State University in 1982, and has since worked in the field of real estate, and over the course of time, he earned much respect as a mortgage broker having excelled in the field with his 30 years experience. He was a devoted Christian and had an unshakable belief in God and that the way to Heaven was through the teachings of Jesus Christ. He had a passion for ministering to others and he committed much of his time, energy and resources to his religious commitment. Among his many life's accomplishments, Chris earned certification as a scuba diving instructor, he mastered the art of training German Shepherds, he loved bicycling, he enjoyed playing golf and he practiced martial arts. Most of all, he cherished the time he had with his partner and love of his life, wife Shana, with whom he spent 25 years. During the last several years, Chris struggled with an illness that caused him much physical pain, yet, his devotion to God and love of Christ never waivered. He saw the burdens of his pain simply as another test of God, and although he did not understand God's reasoning for this challenge, he never questioned nor blamed Him for his physical suffering. Chris's life has been blessed, despite the pain he endured. He was blessed because he, at all times, knew that he would be going to be with God, and that his existence in Heaven would have no rival on earth. Chris's family and friends will miss him beyond words, but we too, can take comfort that now Chris is where he needs to be, and that all pain and suffering has been erased. We love you Chris. You have touched our lives in such caring and important ways. We all look forward to seeing you again. A celebration of Chris's life for family and his close friends will be held at a later date.
