Obituary of Aileen Gloria Miner

Aileen Gloria Miner Aileen G. Miner passed away on August 5, 2011 with her loving family by her side. She was 85. Aileen was born on March 19, 1926 in Gustine, California. She was one of six children born to John and Belmira (Coito) Pacheco and grew up in the San Joaquin Valley. She was a graduate of Orestimba High School in Newman and shortly after high school married Norman W. Miner. From the time of their marriage Aileen and Norman always owned and operated small businesses. Her businesses included a grocery store in Newman, later a billiards hall in Dixon, California. She and her husband later owned and operated 7-11 convenience stores in Santa Cruz and in Salinas. Aileen was described by her family as a hard worker and enjoying the time she spent with her family. She also was an avid sports fan and adventurous traveler who took countless trips with her sister Alice. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Vieira of Corralitos and Edwina Edmondson of Watsonville; her brother, Daniel Pacheco of Soquel and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman W. Miner in 2001 and her sisters, Hilda Pacheco in 2003 and Alice Hayes in 2010. A private service will be held at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
