Obituary of Arlene Janette Domenichelli

A private mass was held in Santa Cruz earlier this week for Arlene Domenichelli who passed away peacefully at her Santa Cruz home with her loving family at her bedside. Born in Manteca, California on September 11, 1934, she was 79 years old. Arlene moved to Santa Cruz at the age of 12 and has resided here since. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her faith and devotion to her family and religion will forever be remembered by her loved ones. Arlene was grandmother figure to many other children in various ways. Her fantastic baked treats and the always full cookie jar for anyone stopping by, was just one of the many ways her goodness and dedication to friends and family will be cherished. Arlene was a voracious reader, especially mystery novels. Her favorite book "Hawaii" was a gift to her granddaughter recently, and her grandchildren benefit today from her readings to them. She liked to play all different kinds of card games, and an accomplished poker player. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Domenichelli of Santa Cruz, her two sons and daughters- in-law; Leonard and Melissa Domenichelli of Santa Cruz and Kerry and Kathy Domenichelli of Post Falls, Idaho. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Katie, Chris, Matthew, Michelle, and Jennifer, and her six great grandchildren: Tyler, Michael, Braedon, Kierra, Mikayla, Grant, and many other loving extended family including her nephew Gary Dagistine.
