Obituary of Richard Hirschfeld

Richard Hirschfeld Richard Hirschfeld passed away suddenly April 25th at his home in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He was 87. Born to Mervyn and Mary Hirschfeld on January 13, 1925 Richard grew up and attended Lowell High School in San Francisco. Upon graduation he served in the navy during World War II and following the war he enrolled at the University of California at Berkley where he graduated with a B.S. During college he met and married Haroldine Wurtsbaugh. He worked for Fiberboard for a number of years and finished his career at Lockheed as a systems analyst. He married Mary Ann Hulter in 1967 and they lived in the San Lorenzo Valley until moving to Yakima in 2005. Following Mary Ann's death he moved to Lake Oswego to be closer to his children. He loved the outdoors and he and Mary Ann spent many summers traveling in their 5th wheeler seeing all that America has to offer. Richard is survived by a son Kirk Hirschfeld, daughter Lyn Hirschfeld, step-daughters Christine Fowler and Karen Stanley, step-son Robert Hulter and foster son Edward Brown, Grandchildren; Kelly Bartholomew, Elizabeth Fowler, Anna Fowler, Anthony Payjack, Robert Payjack, Bobby Hulter, Michael Hulter, Daniel Hulter, Jeffrey Hulter, Isaac Hulter, Patricia Hulter, Rachel Hulter, Christina Hulter, Benjamin Hulter, Great-Grandchildren; Michael Bartholomew, Jacob Bartholomew, Rebecca Hulter, Daniel Hulter, Emma Hulter and Theodora Hulter. A graveside service will be held for Richard at the Felton Cemetery on Friday the 6th of May at 1:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.
