Obituary of Dale Jean Grondona

Dale Grondona, resident of Watsonville, CA. July 10, 1934 to April 18, 2012 Mrs. Dale Grondona, wife of the late James L. Grondona passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Watsonville Community Hospital. Dale was 77. Born in San Francisco on July 10, 1934 to the late Vernon and Mildred Jenison, Dale married James Grondona in 1953. As the wife of an active duty Air Force Captain, she spent time and made friends in many parts of the country. Dale is survived by her four daughters: Kim Baker was born in Waco, TX, and lives in San Jose, CA with her husband Warren. Raye Cheatham was born in Tucson, AZ and lives with her husband Greg and their son James in Boise, ID, Vicki Brown was born in Tucson, AZ and lives in Modesto, CA with her husband Bob and Sherri Lindloff was born in San Francisco, CA and lives in Reno, NV with her husband Chip. As retirement approached they relocated to Watsonville, CA where Dale became an avid equestrian and crafter and she enjoyed knitting, quilting, ceramics and other hobbies. Dale was also a prolific reader. She was a past Deacon and active member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Aptos, CA. Dale's greatest passion was her love of animals. In the rural setting in Watsonville Dale and Jim always had a menagerie of animals including horses, dogs, cats, ducks, peacocks, rabbits and of course the wild animals that frequented the property. Funeral services were private and the family asked that memorial donations be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Aptos, CA.
