Obituary of Leona Rebecca Loveall

Leona Rebecca Loveall passed away after a valiant fight against terminal cancer on January 8, 2014. She was 47 years old. Beckie was born in Eugene, Oregon to Glen Loveall and Diane Marie Reese-Rodgers. Beckie went to Harrisburg grade school and then attended Soquel High School. During her career, Beckie worked at The Beach House in Capitola, and spent the last few years as a supervisor at The Buttery. Beckie was a local favorite for those that frequented Café's around the Santa Cruz area, she turned many customers into regulars. She was known to quote Popeye, " I am who I am!" while at The Buttery. She served not only food and drink, but a big Beckie smile. Beckie had the biggest smile that matched her enormous heart, making an impact on everyone who crossed her path. Every moment spent with Beckie made you feel special. Beckie was a bright shining light of love and joy, to all who met her. No one could compare to her bright smiling brown eyes. Beckie shined brighter than the moon, sun, and all the stars. She will keep smiles in heaven and laughter over the world. Beckie enjoyed many outdoor activities including tennis, hiking, basketball, fishing and camping. Beckie loved all wildlife. She also loved flowers and gardening- all of nature's beauty. Beckie left us while surrounded by her friends and her partner of 21 years, Lorraine Malyjurek. Beckie is also survived by her mother, Diane Rodgers; step-father, Charles Rodgers; brothers, Anthony and Zachary Loveall and her cats, Hairy and Snickers. Beckie was preceded in death by her father, Glen Loveall and her grandma, Susan Loveall. Those who knew Beckie were drawn to her sincerity, her last name could not have suited her any better.
