Obituary of Nelva Mae Walbridge

Nelva Walbridge July 15, 1926-January 15, 2013 Resident of Live Oak Our beloved mother passed away peacefully in her home on January 15th. She was born in San Bernardino, but had also lived in Arroyo Grande and for the past 57 years, Santa Cruz County. She worked as a cannery worker and telephone operator. Nelva was also an accomplished flower arranger for many years, winning awards for her Ikebana designs. Nelva was also known through out the neighborhood for her great apple pies. She enjoyed long beach walks, hiking, her many dogs, and most of all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. We'll all miss her beautiful smile and delightful sense of humor. Mom was a great friend and mentor to all throughout her life. Thank you Mom for all the unselfish sacrifices you made for us and the Joy you brought to all of our lives and everyone you touched. You will be sorely missed, We Love You. Nelva is preceded in death by her husband John J. Walbridge in 1990. She is survived by her 4 children, Mike Kilburger, Julie Burge, Janis (Phil) English, John (Annelies) Walbridge; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, plus many friends and her dog, Bonnie. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
