Obituary of Jo Ann Ann Baldwin

Jo Ann "Jody" Baldwin passed away Jan. 25, 2013, in Santa Cruz after a gallant battle with cancer. She remained strong throughout the entire transition, and her quiet, peaceful spirit is now free. Born Feb. 28, 1955, in Burlingame, she was raised in Millbrae and Morgan Hill before settling in the Soquel-Capitola area in the 1980s. Jody attended Live Oak High School, Class of 1973, Cabrillo College and Gonzaga University and ultimately received her BA and MBA. She provided web design for internet marketing and internet business development. Jody is survived by her son Jason O'Keefe (Katie) and grandchildren Calie and Jack; her daughter Alexandra "Alex" Baldwin; her parents Margaret Hammond and Ken Persons (Elaine); sister Janet Persons Hall (Mike) and children Jacob and Mariah; her two brothers Jim Persons (Debbie) and their sons Jimmy and Joey and Jeff Persons (Lesa) and their daughter Sofia; her uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. Jason, Alex and family express their thanks and gratitude for the many prayers and love sent to Jody the past months. Please keep her in your hearts, forever close. Take a walk, give a smile, say a prayer. Her spirit is with us. Jody will be laid to rest in a private gathering. Plans are pending for a Celebration of Jody's life. Contributions may be made to Land of Medicine Buddha, which was Jody's favorite place to walk with her constant canine companion Scout. And thanks to Flor and her staff for their loving care, and also Hospice of Santa Cruz County.
