Obituary of Maria Auxilio Chavez

Maria Auxilio Gonzalez Chavez passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at her home in Santa Cruz with her family by her side, she was 71 years old. Born on January 24, 1941 in Villa Nueva Zacatecas, Mexico to Juan and Luisa Rodriguez. Maria moved to Santa Cruz and has resided here for 51 years and also was a member of Holy Cross Church. She worked intermittently outside the home, but primarily was a homemaker taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spoiling her grandchildren; she also enjoyed crossword puzzles and Telenovelas. Maria is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jesus Villegas Chavez; her children Jenny Chavez Sinks and her husband Allen and Robert Chavez; her grandchildren, Ricardo Chavez, Fernando Martinez and his wife Tiffany, Jazmin Chavez, Vanessa Chavez Sinks, Angelika Chavez, Ricardo Dante Chavez and Dalissa Escobar. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Luisa Rodriguez who passed away in July of 2012. Services for Maria will held on Friday, January 4, 2012 with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Chapel Service at 10:00 a.m. both at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, (1050 Cayuga Street Santa Cruz, CA).
