Obituary of Virginia Rose Belcher

Private services will be held for Virginia Belcher who passed away peacefully at her Soquel home on July 17, 2012. Born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Orlie Jason Rogers and Eliza Jane Burnett Rogers, she was 89 years old. Mrs. Belcher was a long time resident of Princeton, Indiana, and moved to Santa Cruz in 1964. She worked as a supervisor with William Wrigley Company in Santa Cruz and retired following a 23-year career there. Mrs. Belcher volunteered her time at Dominican Hospital, and made many dear friends and colleagues. Affectionately known as "Granny" to her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, the times spent with all of them was of paramount importance in her life. Her devotion loving concern for her family will always be treasured. Mrs. Belcher is survived by her daughter, Becki Hayes of Isleton, California, her two sons, Jerry and Steve Belcher of Santa Cruz, and her loving nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and her dear friend and caregiver, June Benson of Santa Cruz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Belcher in 1999. One of nine children, Mrs. Belcher was preceded in death by all eight of her siblings. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony beside her late husband, Bob. Any kind acts of charity may be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County
