Tom was the bedrock of one of the most extraordinary families that I have ever met. His love and his devotion to his family and his sense of humanity were boundless and manifested themselves continually through the everyday acts of kindness to all those he came in contact with.
His time on this earth was special and his empathy and compassion shall live on through the selflessness of his loving wife Jeanne and his devoted son Evan.
It is not how long we have on this earth but rather what we do with the time we are given that matters. His spirit shall live on forever and his memory shall transcend our sorrow as the angels rejoice in his presence until that day when we will all meet again amidst the joy of heavenly eternity

Our family has so many wonderful memories of Tom, Jeanne and Evan. It is so hard to imagine a world without Tom. His wonderful sense of humor, his zest for life and his engaging manner will be sorely missed. But we stand with the many fortunate individuals feeling so blessed to have known him.
Jeanne and Evan, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are confidant that the two of you will continue his amazing legacy through your thoughts and actions. There are no two people more up to the task.
With much love and support,
David and Erik Rose,

Some of my best memories include playing guitar and singing with Tom. He was a special human being, a talented musician, and one of the wittiest people I've ever known. He'll be missed by many. Jeanne and Evan, you're in my thoughts.

We will always remember Tom as a wonderful teacher who developed such special relationships with the students. I was a teacher's aide in his class and my son also studied World History with him. What a wonderful person. The world has lost a little of its light with Mr. Milnes' passing. Our hearts go out to his family.

Tom was a wonderful person, always friendly and outgoing. When we met him for the first time, he made us feel as if we had known him for years. Our heart and prayers are with Jeanne and the entire family at this very difficult time. Tom will be greatly missed, but we know as Christians that Tom is secure in our Savior's arms and reaping the rewards of all his faithfulness while here on earth....

I've known Tom & Jeanne for twenty five years, and it is so hard to imagine the world without his laughter, his warmth, his incredible loyalty and his friendship. Although I did not see him often, I held him among that handful of deeply loved friends who are life's fellow travelers. Tom, thank you for sharing the eagles at Tule Lake. You will be missed, and you, Jeanne and Evan are in my prayers.

I will miss the casual conversations we had as you strolled around the block and those special times when you'd come and sit on our patio and blow my mind with your guitar expertise. Forever your version of Cinnamon Girl will stay in my memory. A devoted man of faith and family you set an example we can all follow. We'll miss you - The Carothers

Tom, was not only a friend but the teacher of both my children in 7th grade. Tom was always curious about our faith, and we had many interesting conversations about our own faith, and what it meant to each of us. He was a very personal person, but would absolutley glow when he was near.He made my faith stronger and hope helped him with his; but most of all I loved his love for music, and how I enjoyed hearing him play.
Tom your mandolin wind will be with me for ever!

I first met Tom when he taught at Yreka High school and we just sort of hit it off.We played a lot of tennis, went cross country skiing, did the eagle fly out,Captain Jacks and Tule Lake many times. I haven't seen him much these past years but I thought when we were retired it would be easier to get together and do all of those things again. Although at a much slower pace I'm sure. My thoughts are with Jeanne, Even and all of Toms family. I just always thought I would see him again. Buzz
