Wilbur McKinney July 4, 1917 ~ August 16, 2013 Resident of Santa Cruz Wilbur Mac" McKinney passed away on August 16, 2013, he was 96 years old and was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Audrey. Mac was born July 4, 1917 in Costilla New Mexico to Georgia and John McKinney. He spent his childhood in Denver, Colorado and Ventura, CA Mac served in the Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1948 where he trained as a hydraulic specialist while stationed in Saipan. After returning from service he moved to Santa Barbara where he met Audrey on a blind date. They were married May 29, 1948. Mac was in food sales and was employed by Best Foods and Webers Bakery retiring in 1976. Mac was a Past Master of Magnolia Lodge, F&AM in Santa Barbara where he received the Hiram Award. He transferred his membership to Confidence Lodge F&AM, Soquel after he and Audrey re-located to Capitola in 1990. Mac and Audrey loved to dance and belonged to a ballroom dance club in Santa Barbara. RVing was a favorite pastime and they enjoyed the many friends they met an the road. Mac is survived by daughter, Shauna Moulton, son-in-law Bert, grandsons Todd, Scott (Corey), and four great grandchildren as well as his nephew, Jae Hoxsie (Kathie), and niece Laura Barker (Don). His brother, Richard preceded him in death. A private, family gathering will be held at a later date.
