Michael Ray Threet

March 28, 1960 – January 29, 2022

Lifelong Santa Cruz Resident

A memorial celebration is planned for beloved husband, father and friend, Michael Threet, who passed away of sudden heart failure while enjoying the 20 plus years of comradery and competition with his weekly tennis partners. Born in Santa Cruz to Raymond and Edith Threet, Mike was 61 years old.

Raised on the Santa Cruz Westside, Mike attended Natural Bridges Elementary, Mission Hill Jr. and Santa Cruz High School.

He was a talented athlete and continued surfing up until the last week of his life.  

A brick and stone mason for more than 43 years, Mike owned and operated Michael R. Threet Masonry in Capitola.  He leaves many lifelong friends and coworkers in the construction trades, and he cherished the many years of hardworking, yet rewarding times where his skills and artisanship will remain in countless homes and buildings throughout Santa Cruz County and beyond.

He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife Patty Threet of Capitola, children Michael R. Threet II of San Diego, Vincent Migues of Campbell and Amy Migues of Scotts Valley.
