Obituary of Maureen O'Neil

Maureen O’Neil has moved! Born and raised in SantaCruz, she now resides in Heaven. The world has lost akind and loving soul. Her family and friends have gainedan advocate in Heaven. Maureen will be rememberedmost for her kind and gentle personality and friendlysmile. She took time with everyone. She loved to talk; shemade everyone around her feel comfortable. Maureen was the daughter of Lydia and Richard O’Neilof Santa Cruz. She is survived by her loving husband DanCasagrande and her only sister, Sheila O’Neil and part- ner Gary Decker. Sisters-in-law include Roberta Jenkins,Donna Casagrande, Marcy Blair, Denise Casagrande,Patty Polcawich and Peggy Layton; brothers -in-lawRon Casagrande, Thomas Jenkins, Jon Polcawich andThomas Layton; bonus sons Dan, Andy, Joseph and JohnCasagrande. Daughters-in-law include Nicole Casagrande,Emma Casagrande and Jennifer Liccardi. Maureen lovedher eight grandchildren – Gio Casagrande Fragola,Madison Casagrande Fragola, Danny, Ella, Colin, Soleil,Ace and Nova Casagrande. On Maureen’s mother’s sideof the family she has numerous aunts, uncles and cousinswhom she loved dearly. Maureen went to Holy Cross for twelve years and graduated from Cabrillo College. Maureen was admired for herhonesty, integrity and work ethic. She went to work withBank of America right after college and spent her entire46-year career with the bank. Maureen’s funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March5 at 11 AM at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 435 MontereyAve, Capitola. A vigil service will be held at Benito &Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga Street, SantaCruz on Friday, March 4 at 6 PM.
