Obituary of William Harold Culbreth

Family and friends will gather in Santa Cruz to say farewell to a loving father, brother, and trusted friend, William Culbreth who passed away at the age of 75.  Born in southern California, Bill, as he was affectionately known to all, moved to the Santa Cruz area in the early 70’s where he began working as a self employed mover, hauler and mechanic for over 30 years.

He retired from his hauling business in the mid-2000’s and went back to college, taking classes at Cabrillo where he studied biology with an emphasis on fungi. Bill was fascinated with mushrooms and learned to hunt for the edible delicacies in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He also enjoyed organic gardening of which he would always provide bountiful harvests to friends and neighbors.

Bill was knowledgeable in the field of automotive mechanics and enjoyed working on all types of vehicles with a special passion for classic automobiles.
He was very proud of his 1945 GMC Truck.

He is survived by his son Will, his brother Steve and his Sister Lisa

A private burial ceremony has been conducted at Purissima Cemetery in Half Moon Bay.
