






Obituary of Judy Rossi
Judy Rossi, co-owner of well-known establishment Rossi’s Towing, passed away Tuesday afternoon with her family by her side. Judy Rossi, formerly known as Judy Hartman, was born in San Francisco and moved to Santa Cruz at an early age. After graduating Santa Cruz High School in 1958 Judy, met and married Frank Rossi Jr. Judy resided in Santa Cruz County for over 70 years. Devoted to her husband and darling children, she was loved by all. Judy was an enterprising and successful small business owner, leaving behind a legacy that remains an industry leader in the roadside service community.
In 1962 Judy and her husband Frank, opened Rossi’s Paint & Body Shop. Starting off as an automotive repair shop, Frank and Judy added towing services in 1967. The Rossi’s teamed up with AAA in 1982 as an independent contractor. Frank Rossi Jr. passed away in 1997 after which Judy working alongside three of her grown children continued growing the company. As the years progressed their company grew into the well-known road side service provider know as Rossi’s Towing. Judy was an inspiration to her family who will continue to carry on her legacy of service to the community of Santa Cruz County.
Judy Rossi was also the heart of a large and close knit family. Judy loved her family and anytime spent with them was her best day. Judy is survived by her five children: Nicole, Mark, Melissa, Yvette and Valerie; and nine grandchildren: Denise, Nathan, Sophia, Matthew, Samantha, Jamie, Cloe, Renee, Brandon, and her great granddaughter, Charlotte. She is also survived by her loving sister Diane, brother in-law Wayne and niece Amy.
