Geraldine Marie Tyndall

June 6, 1927 – July 13, 2023

Longtime Resident of San Jose

 

Geraldine Tyndall passed away with her loving family at her bedside in Capitola, California.

Born in Boise, Idaho, she studied teaching in Eugene Oregon.  She married Robert Tyndall June 6, 1953 and moved to San Jose, California in 1961 where they raised their family. 

 

 For many years, Gerry worked as a substitute school teacher in San Jose School Districts. She became a favorite teacher of both her students and her colleagues. 

 

She was very active in both church and civic activities.  Geraldine was a long time congregant of First Christian Church in San Jose where she and Bob taught Sunday School and led various youth groups.  She was a voracious reader and a talented writer and poet as well.  

Geraldine moved to Capitola to live with her daughter in 2019.  Her husband Robert Tyndall preceded her in death in 2011. 

 

She leaves her two sons Michael and Steve, and daughters Merlin Thomas and Debbie Tyndall along with daughter in law Irene and son in law Chris.  She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Committal services are private.
