






Obituary of Arturo Alfaro Garcia
Arturo Alfaro Garcia, 69, of Santa Cruz passed away on July 23, 2023. He was born on March 12, 1954 to Jose and Marialuz Alfaro. He was a native of Araro, Michoacan. He graduated from the Technological Institute of Morelia in 1973. Arturo moved from Michoacan to Santa Cruz, California in 1975.In 1975 Arturo began working for the Campbell Soup Mushroom Farm as a mechanic and electrician with many other duties.
Arturo was a talented videographer and made many videos for friends and family. He could fix almost anything working on countless computers and appliances. He was a member of Holy Cross Church and later Star of the Sea Church.
Arturo is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maria Del Pilar Gandara Garcia. He is also survived by daughters Pilar Solis (Felipe Camberos) and Marialuz Alfaro (Ruben Valadez); sons Ruben Solis (Rocio), Arturo Alfaro (Veronica), and Javier Agustin Alfaro; sisters Maria Isabel Alfaro, Inez Alfaro, and Yolanda Alfaro; brothers Gabriel Alfaro and Tarscisio Alfaro; grandchildren Felipe Jr., Alejandro, Carlos, Ruben, Damian, Arturo, Valentino, Michelle, Mariana, and Layla; 57 nieces and 18 nephews.
Arturo is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Marialuz Alfaro; brothers Eugenio and Jose Alfaro; mother in law Noraima Garcia; brother in law Augustin Gandara; father in law Augustin Gandara; and nephew Ricky Guerrero.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 3rd at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel from 1pm to 7pm with a Rosary at 7pm. On Friday, Aug 4th A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at 11am. A Committal Service will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, California.
