Obituary of Lorraine Mildred Skidmore

Lorraine Skidmore passed away on September 17, 2013 at her home in Santa Cruz, just three days after celebrating her 94th birthday. Lorraine was born in Berkeley, CA to parents Hans & Sophie Uldall, both immigrants from Denmark. Hans, Sophie and their family later moved to Stockton, CA where their five children were raised. As a young woman, Lorraine and friends would take trips to Santa Cruz. It was on one of these visits, at a dance at the Coconut Grove, that she met her future husband, Bob. They were married July 4, 1941 and were married for 70 years until Bob's death in 2012. They lived in Sacramento, Stockton and Merced before moving to Santa Cruz in 1952. Lorraine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. Her most treasured moments were being with her children & their families. She loved flowers, going out to lunch daily and most of all her beloved Giants. She is survived by son Tom & wife Sherry, daughter JoAnn & husband Mike and son Bob. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, brother Carl Uldall, sister-in-law Mary Jo Putnam and many nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga Street, Santa Cruz.
