Kurt Langholff

Obituary of Kurt David Langholff

Kurt, also known as 'Kurto" to friends and 'Kurtie' to his family, passed away Oct. 4, 2014. The only son of Kurt Robert and Julie Jones Langholff, he was born in Hawaii during the time his father was in the US Navy, stationed at Barbers Pt, Oahu, Hawaii. As a child, he thought of himself as Hawaiian because he was born in Hawaii. Kurtie is survived by his beloved Auntie Heidi, 1st cousin Kirstin Dempsey, Uncles Dick Jones, Art Jones, and Gene (Gabrielle) Jones as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his much loved Grandma BB Langholff, Grandfather Robert (Lanky) Langholff, Grandma Virginia Jones and Grandpa Claude Jones. Although he was separated from his wife, Tira Ramirez, he continued a friendship with her and still loved her deeply in his own way. He loved the outdoors, the ocean, and the mountains. Some of his most blissful times were spent camping and fishing with his Dad, his uncle Gary, and his best friend Brian Smalley at Kennedy Meadows, especially when he caught the most fish. He loved all animals. In particular, our kitties Clipsy and Dolly, and his cat, The Chetman (deceased). He always looked forward to visits with Tira and her little dog 'Doggie'. He was a life-long trekkie. He enjoyed anything and everything pertaining to Star Trek-his nick name was Capt. Kurt. Kurt loved to read, especially subjects such as history, sci fi, D&D, and the Game of Thrones series. He also really enjoyed Video games with friends. He worked in the past at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods where he made many long lasting friendships. Kurt went to New Brighton Elementary and Middle school and Soquel High school. Kurtie, our handsome son, we will always love you more than words can express and already miss you terribly. Yet, we know that you are finally at peace with the world—Rest in Peace Captain Kurt.
