Obituary of Rory Wade Hammar

Rory Hammar was born in Santa Cruz August 14, 1990, and died June 21, 2014. He will be missed and remembered by countless people. Rory was a staunch and loyal friend, and was spoken of by everyone as having like a brother to them. He was a protective and loving big brother and loved his family and relatives with his whole heart. Anyone who knew him all described him as having a heart of gold. Rory loved the outdoors and explored every inch of his surrounding mountains. He followed deer trails and ridges for miles and had an innate sense of direction that always brought him back home. He could find his way with his eyes closed. He had an affinity for animals and even wild things seemed to trust him. Rory was enjoying his new job at HallCrest Winery, and making plans in his life. Rory may have had to struggle more than many people to find his life path, but through it all, he never failed to say, "I love you". Rory is survived by his Father, Robin; his Mother Melissa; his younger Sister Shelby; His beloved Grandparents, Louise Hammar, Pat and Eula Pettit and many countless extended relations and friends. A light has truly been extinguished in this world. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel (1050 Cayuga Street Santa Cruz, CA 95062) beginning at 7:00 p.m.
