Obituary of Jose Refujio Villalobos

Jose Refujio Villalobos, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Dominican Hospital. He was 53. Jose was born on May 4, 1961 in San Juan Cosala, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Catalino Villalobos and Rosario (Chavez) Villalobos. He moved to Santa Cruz as a young man, where he worked for Campbell Soup Company for 23 years and later for Big Creek Lumber for 9 years. In his spare time Jose enjoyed carpentry, restoring classic cars, gardening, jogging and traveling. He also enjoyed playing and watching soccer. However what he loved the most was spending quality time with his "Gigi" and "Bella". Jose was a member of the United Farm Workers Union. Jose is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 33 years, Maria Elena Villalobos; his children, Veronica Seghetti, Fernando Luis Villalobos and Luselena Villalobos; two grandchildren, Isabella Victoria Seghetti and Giuliana Marie Seghetti; He is also survived by his ten siblings, Maria de Jesus Villa, Pedro Villalobos, Jesus Dolores Villalobos, Maria Paulina Villalobos, Antonio Villalobos, Rodolfo Villalobos, Maria de los Angeles Escobedo, Anastasio Villalobos, Julio Villalobos and Raynaldo Villalobos. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 126 High St., Santa Cruz, CA on Friday September 5, 2014 at 10:00 am. A vigil service and recital of the Rosary will take place at Holy Cross Church on Thursday September 4, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 2271 7th Ave., Santa Cruz, Ca. immediately following the Mass.
