This morning we read of the passing of Phil. He lived a good long life by today’s standards but it is still very sad when a loved one leaves this world. Phil’s life of accomplishments is impressive. I remember seeing Phil at lunchtime in Stagnaro’s on the wharf sitting at a a table along with 6 or 8 of his buddies. We exchanged warm greetings and he seemed to be very happy.
Please know that we share your sadness and extend our condolences to you both. But also remember the good life and accomplishments that Phil had, not the least of which is being Diane’s father.

My first encounter with Phil was walking the streets of Seacliff, of course! During this walk we found we had some things in common. When he said he was from Los Gatos I asked his last name and he said LaBarbera, I said Helen? Helen and I, Diane too, were graduates of LGHS. Over the years, we had many nice walks and gatherings with the family, that I will remember fondly. Big hug to you Barb, you two were an inspiration.
