Obituary of Olive Morelli

Olive C. Morelli passed away on November 22, 2013 at Driftwood Health Care Center in Santa Cruz at the grand age of 97. Olive was raised and born in San Lucas, CA on August 30, 1916 to the union of Carl Oberg and Goldie Oberg nee McKeon. She graduated from King City High School and later in life; she also participated in the Women's Reentry Program at Cabrillo College where she made some lasting friendships. She married Stanley Morelli, and together they enjoyed taking cruises as well as camping in their travel trailer next to great fishing locations where Stanley could fish. Mother loved traveling, the sights and sounds of the ocean and she enjoyed ballroom dancing. She volunteered her time at DeLaveaga School, Dominican Hospital and found joy visiting with people while delivering Meals on Wheels. For many years, Olive was employed at Leasks Department Store. After Stanley's death, Olive moved to Spring Lakes in Scotts Valley, where she enjoyed making new friends and participating in the many activities including playing on the Shuffle Board Team. Later she moved to Oak Tree Villa and then to Driftwood Healthcare Center, until her passing. Olive was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley Morelli, her parents, and three sisters. She is survived by: four children, Carl Delair, Dana Morelli, Christie Morelli Longmire and Nancy Morelli; five grandchildren, Beth DeLair, Barbara DeLair, Robin Whiting (David), Lael Morelli and Maile Morelli; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends Private family services will be held at a later date.
