Obituary of Josephine Manriquez

70 Year Resident of Santa Cruz On Dec. 30, 2014 in Santa Cruz, CA, Josephine (Brown) Manriquez went to be with the Lord at the age of 97. Her family was at her bedside when she passed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Mike Manriquez. Josephine was born in a covered wagon on March 14, 1917 in Brawley, California, as her parents were traveling from San Diego to San Jose. In 1935 Josephine married Mike, and the couple moved to Santa Cruz in 1944 where they both lived out their remaining years. Josephine leaves three daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Steve Ramirez Rowe, June and Don Summers, Mary and John Dodson Hutchinson and her son Leonard Manirquez. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren. Josephine had a very full life; getting to meet, know and love them all! We all loved her and will miss her very much. Josephine was laid to rest at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz on January 3, 2015.
