Nancy Gaitan

Obituary of Nancy Sue Gaitan

A private family service will take place on Friday in Santa Cruz, California for Nancy Gaitan who passed away peacefully at her daughter and son in-law's home in Felton, CA. on May 17th at the age of 59. Her loving family was at her bedside when she passed. Her determination and strong will to defeat her illness was a true testament to a lady who overcame many hurdles in life; leaving her loved ones with a lasting example of the kind of person she was as a dedicated and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Born in Selma, California, Nancy moved with her family to the Santa Cruz area this past year. Her family will also cherish many fond memories of her love of the ocean, and a passion for dolphins. Nancy attended Fresno High School and at the age of 18, began a career with the Internal Revenue Service in Fresno as a customer service representative that spanned over 37 years. Her job, although being difficult with its sensitive nature, was something that Nancy excelled at. She was an employee that took great pride in helping people solve their tax matters, and will be deeply missed many friends, colleagues, and business clients that she assisted throughout the years. Nancy loved to "Be Bop" and dance to her "Golden Oldies" with favorite artists being: The Beach Boys, Righteous Brothers, Neil Diamond, and Herman's Hermits. There will always be many loving stories recalling Nancy's singing and dancing to the music of her life, and sharing her joys with her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Jesse Aguirre, and her two grandsons, Dominic and Jeremiah Aguirre, along with her loving sisters, their families, and extended family. The visitation for friends and family will be on Friday May 23, 2014 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Garden's Chapel from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Committal will be private.
