Obituary of Mariella Giraldo

Mariella Giraldo, 94, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2014 surrounded by family. A native of Armenia Colombia, Mariella was a talented seamstress who moved to the United States in 1963 with her husband Mauricio, eventually settling in the Santa Cruz area. She loved to sew, and spent much of her spare time making clothes for the impoverished children of other countries. She is preceded in death by her husband Mauricio and her son Fernando. She is survived by her children Marlene Lundin of Scotts Valley, and Ivan Giraldo and his wife Consuelo, as well as her grandchildren Fernando Giraldo and his wife Shannon; Lilly Giraldo; Michael Lundin and his wife Megan; and Cindy Mesaros and her husband Mike. Her great grandchildren Ava, Cole, Stella, Veronica, Julia and Corey and three great-great grandchildren Kailey, Kohen and Kora also survive her. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. A Memorial Service will be held for Mariella on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga Street in Santa Cruz beginning at 3:00 pm.
