Obituary of Bettie Foster Marenghi

Bettie Marenghi passed away on November 29, 2013 at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. She was 88. Bettie was born on February 6, 1925 in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Clarence and Amy Foster. She grew up in Sacramento and has been a resident of Santa Cruz since 1946. In her earlier years she worked as a clerk at Camp Evers Store in Scotts Valley. Bettie was a devoted wife and a loving mother, sister and aunt. She spent her life dedicated to her family and friends and was characterized by her family as a saint. She was a member of Holy Cross Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Roy Seghetti of Soquel; grandson, Daniel Seghetti; granddaughter, Jennifer Buecher; grandsons, Ryan and Matt Chapatte; great granddaughters, Isabella and Giuliana Seghetti and Annabelle Buecher. She is also survived by her niece, Diane Chapatte. Bettie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ernest Marenghi; her son, Robert Marenghi and her sister, Bonnie Ponza. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Resurrection Catholic Chuch 7600 Soquel Dr., Aptos, CA on Thursday December 5, 2013 at 10:00 am. A private interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangments are under the direction of Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.
