Obituary of Kathleen M Webb

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday in Capitola for Kathleen Webb who passed away on Monday June 30th, at Dominican Hospital. Born in Glendale, California, she was 72 years old. Kathleen was a graduate of The Gael Preparatory High School in East Los Angeles, and earned her Teaching Degree from Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles. Teaching for 5 years in the East Los Angeles School System, Kathleen then taught in both Germany and England for the Department of Defense School System. After her children were in school, she continued to substitute teach for Hollister and Pajaro Unified School Districts where she leaves many dear friends, colleagues whose relationships she treasured dearly. Many former students whose young lives she helped to shape, are a testimony to her dedication and caring concern for young people and their ability to achieve. Kathleen took a very active part in both of her son's scholastic and athletic endeavors. Whether it was performing the duties of soccer mom, little league volunteer, or home tutor, her devotion to her family was of paramount importance in her life. Kathleen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Capitola, and volunteered her time teaching communion, confirmation, and religious studies classes. She kept in touch with her longtime friends as a member of The Immaculate Heart Alumni Association. She also enjoyed gardening, Eastern European and Greek folk dancing, and was an avid reader of mystery novels. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Webb of Aptos, her sons, Ian Webb of Santa Cruz and Colin Webb of Aptos. Kathleen also leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Maryann Flanagan of Seattle, Washington. Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (435 Monterey Ave.) in Capitola, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
