Obituary of Robert Allen Grimsley

Services will be held on Friday in Santa Cruz, for Robert Grimsley who passed away at his Watsonville home this past weekend. Born in El Paso, Texas, he was 68 years old. "Bobby" as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was a member of the Santa Cruz County Railroad Historical Society since 1995. He was the president of the Society for 10's ending in 2006. Bobby also volunteered his time helping with the Garden Railroad model trains. He served his country in the US Army during Viet Nam. A talented artist, fondly nicknamed "Rags", he leaves many dear friends and colleagues in the local art community. Bobby worked for Granite Rock as a security officer until retiring last year. Survived by two brothers: Howard Grimsley and wife Fran Grimsley of Sacramento, CA. and Brad Grimsley and wife Brenda Grimsley of Harrah, Oklahoma, step-daughter Lynn Hantzis and her children David and Melissa Nixon. He also leaves his beloved Aunt Betty Hanson, of Livermore Ca. He was preceded in death by his mother Patsy Ruth Rodrigues, his step father David Piva Rodrigues and his father, John Burton Grimsley. Bobby also was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean Grimsley in 2005. He will forever be remembered as a wonderful brother, uncle and nephew, who will be greatly missed and loved.
