Obituary of Betty Jean Zachary

Betty Jean Zachary passed away peacefully at home at the age of 81, on September 10th, 2013, after a battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Arizona, she moved to California and finished High School at Santa Cruz High School. She lived in Santa Cruz, until she retired, then moved to Boulder Creek in 1988. Betty raised her four daughters, then returned to school to become a teacher. She taught dental assisting for 22 years at Cabrillo College. She was active in Church as a musician, a member of PEO, an avid adventure seeker and enjoyed land, sea, and air adventures in her motorhome, houseboat, and airplane with her late husband, Harold. Betty is survived by her daughters Valerie, Katherine, Debra, and Tricia and her grandchildren Ian, Nathan, & Hailey. Even in her illness, she delighted everyone who met her. A small celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday at 7:00 pm, September 18, 2013 at the Highlands Park Senior Center, 8500 Highway 9, Ben Lomond, CA. Flowers are welcome and may be sent to Pacific Gardens Chapel, the family's preference is for remembrance's to be made to Alzheimer's research (ALZ.org).
