Obituary of Patrick Howard Pratt

Feb. 2, 1934 – Dec. 12, 2014 A private committal with military honors will be held for Patrick Pratt who passed away peacefully at his Santa Cruz Home with his loving family at his bedside. Born in Hawaii, he was 80 years old. Mr. Pratt moved to the Santa Cruz area 53 years ago. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. It was at Fort Ord where he met his bride to be, Dolores Pratt. Following his service in the Army, Mr. Pratt began a career with N.C.R and his career with the firm spanned over 35 years. An avid bowler, he was a familiar face at the Boardwalk Bowl and at numerous leagues and tournaments for over 20 years, Mr. Pratt in 2003 helped the woman’s and Men’s association to become one joint association is Santa Cruz County. Mr. Pratt shared his love of bowling with others as a junior- adult coach for 35 years. There will be many happy memories shared of his love for tinkering and repairing things around the house, and working on his automobiles. His greatest joy in life was his gift of family, and the love shared. Mr. Pratt is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and August Waltrip of Watsonville, his two sons; Pat Pratt of Dallas, Texas, and Kelly Pratt of Sacramento, and Terica Pratt of Felton, He also leaves his loving grandchildren: Bryce Legrand Danenhauer and wife Jessica Laces, Nichole Waltrip and Jeff Ramirez, Shantel and Ernie Valle, Maura Pratt, Erica Pratt, AJ Waltrip and Kaitlyn Lotz, Steven Pratt, and Michael Pratt. Great-grandchildren: Brandon and Seth Valle, Austin and Danny Legrand, Liahona and Elouise Legrand Danenhauer. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dolores in 1997, and his brother George Pratt in 2013. He will be laid to rest with private military honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
