Obituary of Kurtis Donald Lemke

Kurtis Donald Lemke, 55 entered heaven on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Kurtis was born on Sep. 20, 1958 in Cedar Bluffs, NE. He grew up in southern CA and graduated with a carpentry degree at SCC in Milford, NE. Kurt used his carpentry skills throughout the country from Nebraska to Alaska and California. Since 1999, Kurt was a resident at a skilled nursing home in Santa Cruz, CA where he lived courageously with MS. Kurt's life was a witness to all who entered his room of his love for God's Word, his trust in God's plan for his life, and his desire for all he knew to have a personal relationship with Jesus! While living at "the Club" Kurt was President for 12 years. With his leadership skills, charm and wit he was greatly responsible for getting sidewalks put in around the facility. Kurt is survived by his cherished girlfriend, Jan Vyeda of Watsonville; children Joshua Cody, Samantha, and Christopher of Clovis; parents Don and Arlene, brother Chris and sister Gail Stolze with their spouses in Brainard, NE; sister Lori Seale and spouse in ID; and all of their families. He grew spiritually at Twin Lakes Church. With sparkly eyes, a big personality and vivid imagination he loved adventures and had a deep love for the outdoors where he mined for gold in Alaska, hunted bears in Canada, and fished the oceans of the Pacific. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 2 pm, at Hearts and Hands, 2990 Soquel Ave.
