Obituary of Pamela R Wyzga

A celebration of life will be held in Santa Cruz for Pam Wyzga who passed away at Dominican Hospital on November 24, 2013, following a brief illness. Pam celebrated her 69th birthday on October 20th. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was was raised in Missouri, and graduated from high school in Jefferson City. She moved to New England to attend college and earned her Bachelor's Degree in history and Italian at Smith College in Northampton, MA. Pam then received her Masters' Degree in Arts and Teaching at Simmons College in Boston. She was a dedicated teacher and worker, first obtaining a job as insurance adjustor with Prudential Insurance in Boston, and then working for the Cambridge Massachusetts School System as a 4th grade teacher. She and her husband moved to Paris, France where Pam taught at the internationally recognized Marymount School. She had a thirst for creative learning experiences that led her to study French pastry techniques at LeNotre in Paris. Upon moving back to the United States, she operated her own pastry catering business, and later continued her studying, with classes in art and music at Cabrillo College. Pam was an accomplished singer and performed in many of the Cabrillo College opera productions. She also loved water color painting, and sold some of her creations locally. She will be missed by many colleagues and dear friends that she had made for the past 35 years of her life in the Santa Cruz area. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ron Wyzga of Santa Cruz, her two sons, Zachary Wyzga of Campbell, and Damien Wyzga of San Francisco, and her brother, Rick Salisbury of Kansas.
