Obituary of Rosemarie Gardner

A private committal at sea will be held for Rosemarie Gardner who passed away peacefully at her Felton home following a lengthy illness. She was 92 years old. Born in Fresno, California, she grew up on a cattle ranch. Rosemarie often spoke of her childhood memories being raised on the farm. At the age of 8, she was responsible for milking several cows by hand, in the dark hours of the morning, and before going to school. Rosemarie moved to Felton 50 years ago and began a career with the Santa Cruz Police Department, working as a records keeper. She made many lifelong friendships at the department and was respected by her co-workers and police officers for her professional and accurate work. She is survived by her cousin, Beverly Leach of Fresno, and dear friends of over 50 years, "Dub" Watson of Aptos, and Ken and Betty Clause of Felton. Any kind acts of charity can be made in her memory to the Salvation Army (721 Laurel Street in Santa Cruz) the SPCA; or to the American Red Cross.
