Obituary of Kimberlin Cormany Beckett

Kimberlin Cormany Beckett loving wife, mother, grandmother and longtime resident of Santa Cruz, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

 

Kim is survived by her brother Steve, her husband Jim, her children Brad, Tanner, and Carolyn, as well as her grandchildren Anabelle, Leila, Reid, Charley and Kimberlin-Paige.

 

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 30, 1947 to Ralph L. Cormany and Louise B. Cormany. Kim was raised in southern California, attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with her teaching credentials. After finishing her education, Kim taught elementary school in both southern and northern California. On September 26, 1970 she married James H. Beckett at the Cate School in Carpinteria and they would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year. On December 3, 1977, September 28, 1979, and June 13, 1983 Kim welcomed her three children Brad, Tanner and Carolyn and devoted herself to them.   

 

Throughout the years Kim enjoyed playing tennis, golf and bridge with her best girlfriends, as well as her daily walks through Capitola and Pleasure Point. She was the go-to for school pickup and grandkid camp. Her worldwide travels and frequent trips to Tahoe and Corona del Mar brought her great happiness.

 

Kim loved her friends and family immensely, and she will be missed by so many.
