Julie (Geleta) Moriarty

Obituary of Julie Ann (Geleta) Moriarty

In most loving memory of Julie Ann (Geleta) Moriarty who went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 8, 2023.

She was surrounded and in constant presence of those who loved her during the time of her passing. Julie was born in San Mateo on December 2, 1960, to Don and Althea Geleta. The Geleta’s eventually relocated to Scotts Valley where she attended Vine Hill Elementary, Scotts Valley Middle School, and Soquel High School. After graduating she enrolled at Fresno State University where she majored in Counseling. Upon completion Julie lived an adventurous life taking trips to Mexico, making friends wherever she went and creating a wonderful life. During this time, she worked a variety of jobs in the service of others before settling down as a tech writer in Los Gatos. It was there Julie met her husband Mike in 1988 and the two were married in the spring 1991. Julie became a mother to twin boys Mitch and Danny on February 27, 1992, whereupon she devoted the rest of her life to their health and happiness. She will always be remembered for her excellent cooking, art, music, poetry, gentle demeanor, kindness to her neighbors, and the most beautiful green eyes. Through thick and thin Julie was always able to be a friend to others with her open arms, warm heart, and bright smile. Always a free spirit with quick wit and quick to laugh, Julie loved to give what she had of her and was frequent in helping the homeless in whatever way she could. Julie gave herself to others, and that will be her legacy. Julie lives on through the three men she devoted her life to taking care of: her husband Mike and their twin boys Mitch and Danny.

Julie is survived by her parents Don and Althea Geleta, sisters Chris and her husband Greg Lehr, Katie and her husband Neal Fornaciari; Nieces and Nephews:  Dustin Lehr, Shawna Basta, Amber Leikam, and Theo Fornaciari; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
