Obituary of Terry Quival Jr.

Family, friends and the car community as a whole are mourning the loss of Emiterio “Terry” Quival JR, a beloved Father, Grandfather and devoted companion.  He passed away at his home in Santa Cruz surrounded by his Family on Sunday August 6, 2023.

Terry was born in San Francisco and came from a large family of 7 children. He joined the Navy and served his country receiving an honorable discharge. He had recently celebrated his 79th Birthday.

From a young age he was blessed to find his passion in life, CARS!  He was a gifted mechanic that loved to build, race and talk cars. You could always find him at a coffee shop with friends talking about their next projects or mechanical issues. He was always willing to lend a helping hand with any advice, work or mentoring to anyone who needed it. It was his giving nature that made him so loved/cherished by anyone who met him. His working career spanned over 55 years with Super Auto, Grand Auto and ending with Quality Automotive in Santa Cruz where his specialty was restoring classic cars to their original splendor. Classic cars were a large part of his life. He loved attending car shows, swap meets and was involved in car clubs, including Santa Cruz Clockers and Coastside Cruisers. At these events, he was always surrounded by family and friends. Everyone knows he was always a Ford guy. He loved driving his 42 Ford, 40 Ford and he and his Son Tony were in the process of restoring his 65 Shelby.

His family was his pride and joy. He loved traveling in the RV, boating, water skiing and camping. He especially loved Lake Berryessa, where he spent about 52 years enjoying a well-deserved vacation to just relax and be with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved partner Jeanne Allshouse, Daughter and Son-in-law Tiffany Bustos and Ruben of Nampa ID, Daughter Dylana Quival of Mt Vernon WA, Son and Daughter-in-law Tony Quival and Wittney of Soulsbyville CA, Partner’s 3 Daughters Jackie Raynor of Soquel CA, Janice Becerra of Fremont CA, Vicki Narciso and Son-in-law Frank of Soquel CA, Sister Eve Patton and Fred of Pacifica CA, Sister and Son-in-law Felicia Monosco and Richard of Santa Cruz CA.
