Obituary of Joe Tullis

A private committal has taken place for Joe Tullis who passed away at his Boulder Creek home at the age of 69, following a lengthy illness.  "Joe" as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was born in Livermore, California.  He moved to Aptos as a teenager with his family and graduated from Aptos High School. At the age of 18, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force.  During the Vietnam War, Joe worked in air cargo support in Vietnam, Germany, and other overseas U.S. Air Force Bases. 
 Returning from his duty overseas, Joe took many trade construction courses and became very skilled in welding and mechanics.He was employed at the County Building in Santa Cruz for 10 years in the building and maintenance department. Joe will most definitely be remembered as a hard worker by his colleagues and friends at he county building; always staying until the job was done- with a positive attitude and a smile.

In addition, Joe later worked in the construction trade in San Jose retrofitting and rebuilding school campuses.  Joe and his beloved wife Mirim of 33 years moved for a time to Roswell, New Mexico where Joe was employed with "Motor Coach Industries" constructing and testing new busses for Greyhound.

Joe and Mirim were accomplished travelers visiting Brazil on many occasions, and frequently touring the Gold Country and the  Southwest in their R.V. and always accompanied by their dogs.

His loving wife Mirim, and his two sons, Jeramy and Joshua Tullis survive him.
