Axel, I miss our talks over glasses of red wine and loaves of hot, crisp bread. You were so much more than a landlord to us, you were a cherished friend.

As a friend and brother in Christ, Axel would call me Saint Wayne. He liked hearing my stories helping those with different needs in our little town. As a prayful man he recieved comfort in reading his bible and other books on faith. With his interest in Real Estate as a Broker and investor he suffered the anguish of the week market. The time spent at my Park was gratifying for the enjoyment he recieved in seeing a little peak of heaven that we called it.
I know our God is taking good care of our Axel as he so deserved from trying to do the right things for his family and the God he loved.

I was a student at Leland High School in the mid 1970,s. What began as a conversation about the history of the dark ages, ended with great admiration and memories of a fantastic teacher.

Axel and I were room mates at 3 places while going to San Jose State. We invested in real estate together, and live in a home where Axel was the broker. We also went to a few Swedish events in San Francisco, my grandfather was a Swede too. Axel was a tennis fanatic, history teacher, and a nice guy with a good sense of humor. I'm sorry we won't be seeing him again, but would like to meet his daughters. I'll send a card to his last known address. Adios Amigo!

We first met on the tennis courts in Sveadal. When he was
ready to explore and share his Swedish roots, he joined several of our organizations and served the community well
as Chairman of Svea Lodge and
President of the Swedish American Patriotic League. We enjoyed many hours sharing
family memories and love of music. He hosted several touring musicians from Sweden and his "Big Band" at Sveadal.
He was a good friend, a gentleman, and a scholar. He is missed.

Long discussions about teaching, authors, religion and life. A man of great convictions and depth--often beyond my ability to dialogue with him but I tried to be a good listener to his intriguing theses. He was always available when needed.
Blessings to his family in their time of sorrow.

Axel and I were good friends in high school. Today I was thinking about some of our adventures together when we were counselors at the Erie YMCA camp and so I tried to find him on line. Not only was I very sorry to find that he has died, I found out that he had been living in Santa Cruz where I visited my daughter for many years. He was a fine boy with a good sense of humor and very religous.
