Obituary of Melinda Jane Matulich

Melinda J. Matulich died unexpectedly but peacefully at the age of 40 in her sleep on Friday, December 17, 2010 at her home in Aromas, CA. She was born the daughter of Nicholas and Jacqueline Paleologos February 2, 1970 in Schenectady, NY. She traveled extensively during her childhood years, living in New York, California, Virginia, Hawaii, and graduated high school from Lassiter High in Marietta, Georgia. She was an outstanding swimmer, but her passion was for horses, which eventually led to a professional horse-back riding career. She recently was proud to have completed her Bachelor's degree in Economics from UC-Santa Cruz. Melinda married Bret Matulich in 1999 and in 2000 gave birth to the joy of her life, her son Jaydn Matulich, who is 10 years old and attends Aromas Elementary School. Melinda was an exceptional mother, involved in Jaydn's school, sports, and other activities. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and love for children and animals. She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Paleologos and her brother, Timon Paleologos, who lives with his wife and two children in Auburn, AL. Memorial services will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Twin Lakes Church, 2701 Cabrillo College Dr. in Aptos.
