Obituary of Melody Rose LeFrancois

MELODY ROSE LEFRANCOIS 9/3/1966 - 5/17/2012 Melody passed away peacefully on May 17, 2012 after a short battle with cancer at 45 years of age. She was born in Carson City, NV on September 3, 1966. A few months later the family moved back to Santa Cruz, where Melody lived the rest of her life. She attended Holy Cross Elementary and Mission Hill Junior High. Melody graduated from Santa Cruz High in 1984. Melody was employed at Erik's Deli, Spa Fitness, Pacific Bell and Westside Auto Supply. For the past 17 years she worked at Santa Cruz Auto Parts. Melody loved flowers, especially lilacs. She enjoyed baking and collecting recipes. She was crazy for roller coasters, and passionate for the beach. She was a radio contest fanatic, winning many elaborate prizes. Melody frequented the dunes at Pismo Beach and liked hiking in Big Sur. Melody is survived by her Mother Joyce LeFrancois-Stephens and Stepfather Michael of Atascadero, Sister Kim Poletti (Anthony) of Santa Cruz, Significant Other Lupe Lopez of Capitola, Niece Sarah, Nephews Nick and Alex, Stepbrothers Mike and Aaron, Uncle Dan Renville, Cousins Adam Renville, Kyle Renville and DeAnna Mc Cormac. During her life, Melody looked after her family and friends, always willing to help in any situation. She had a kind heart and was very thoughtful. She was strong and self-sufficient. It was an honor to take care of her (for a change) even if it was only a brief period of time. She will be extremely missed but we know she will continue to watch over us until we join her. The family will be holding a celebration of remembrance for Melody on June 9th at "Grandma's House". Please call 831-247-0384 or 805-462-9223 for more details. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Help us Save Our Parks at www.parks.ca.gov.
